3 Steps to Buy the Right Shock

Buying shocks isn't always easy. Don't forget you can always message us online at the bottom right of the screen or call us directly at 1-800-369-7469 ext. 4801

1. Get the Eye to Eye and Stroke Measurements: If you are replacing a shock, find the old shock specifications from the manufacturers website. Using the part number of the shock you should be able to find it (most of the time). If that doesn't work and you have a Vernier Caliper (you probably don't) measure from the center of the top eye to the bottom eye. Do the same with Stroke but measure from where the rod goes into the shock body to where the eye starts on the rod. Again if you're lost call, email or message us. Take those measurements and match them to the options above. Select and Add to Cart.

You can always call, email, message us if you need help. We will reply as soon as possible.

2. Decide if you need a spring and add that: You may have a spring that you know you can use from your old shock feel free to use that if you are comfortable. To get the best performance and to keep things fresh we recommend a new Marzocchi Spring ($24.95) and we will show you how to buy one that fits properly!

So you decided you need a spring. What you need is the rear travel of your bike in inches (best to get it from your bike manufacturer's website) and put that number into the first box below. Then use the Stroke measurement from #1 above and enter that in the second box. Finally put in your weight into the final box. Press Calculate and save the Coil Spring Weight (lbs) number.

3. Add the Right Spring: Shocks need springs, get a nice new Bomber Steel Spring for $24.95. Take the number from the Coil Spring Rate and the Stroke from #1. Match those two numbers with the springs we offer here.

A great feeling shock. But dont use the spring calculator on this page.

This is a great riding shock. I appreciate the simplicity of setup coming from a complex air shock with HSC,LSC HSR and LSR ajustability. I bought it to try out a coil shock for the first time, and to have a backup when my usual air shock was in for service. The only problem I have is that the spring calculator above doesn't allow for fractions. I used it, rounding down, and ended up buying a 700# spring that is completely useless to me. I used the Fox calculator and experimented with 450#, 500# and 550# as possibilities. I settled in on 500# and am very happy with it. I'm not sure why they don't just link to the Fox calculator. This one is worthless.

Great Shock

I replaced the Monarch air shock on my Evil Insurgent with the Bomber CR, along with a 29" wheel and Bomber Z1 air fork up front. This combination seems to bring out a lot of this bike's potential in loose, steep rooty and rocky conditions. I just raced a local enduro that featured a stage with quite a lot of roots, and the control and traction exceeded my expectations. Definitely a good choice for the money, but a respectable shock even when compared to some more expensive models.

Good shock but with to many defects

I have never written review but I have to now . When it work is good but it has too many defects . After three rides the shock has disassembled and the lower shock eye came loose and leaked . After warranty service it came back with internal defect . After 5 mm of stroke there is king of rubbing inside . I have send it again to warranty but service did not accepted it. They say it is natural behavior of the shock . I had 10 shocks including 2 fox van RC in 15 years of riding and none of them had this issues . So in two months 2 warranty claims and the shock still doesn't work . What a joke .

Great shock but what’s with the tuning?

Shock seems great but “dtfh” tuning is stiff as a preachers d*^+, I wish you could select a different tune at checkout

Bomber CR

Installed the CR on my 2018 Turbo Levo.
You need a Bike Yoke for the install.
I installed a 650 lb spring and I weigh 180 lbs, sag seems about right.
So far I have been on 4 rides with it and I am very happy.
Previous shock was a Fox DPS and this really smoothed out my ride on the roots.

I love the simplicity of coil, it gives you confidence durability wise and you're not finicking with your air pressure all the time...set it and forget it.
