Not that long ago mountain bikes were simple – suspension opened up more terrain and, more importantly, it meant more fun. The original Z2 was there for the mountain bike suspension revolution –you simply mounted it on your bike and hit the trails. Less time prepping and fixing meant you could just focus on the ride. Twenty years later, that same DNA lives on in the new Marzocchi Z2; it’s ready to shred with smooth and plush suspension. The new from-the-ground-up Rail damper combines low maintenance with intuitive ease of use and impressive on-trail performance. The top-of-fork simple sweep adjuster from firm to open can lock out the fork or fully open the system with plenty of positions in between. The Z2 - it just makes everything easy.
These are the stock forks on my Merida Big Ride and I must say they feel like big boy quality! Super smooth, easy to adjust and will handle my local drop offs and Rock gardens will class and ease.
I bought this fork (140 mm) to upgrade the stock fork on my Trek Roscoe 7. The difference in preformance is amazing. It took the bikes capability to the next level!! I am really pleased with this fork and I recommend that you buy it if you are are wanting to upgrade your bikes suspension.
I have a Fox 36 on my full suspension bike, and love it. While rebuilding my hardtail, I knew I wanted to go with the matching quality fork I was used to, but was restricted to a smaller budget as I was upgrading a comp bike from all the base parts.
Insert the Marzocchi Bomber z2.
It shares many of the same components as its twin, the Fox 34. I was impressed with the feel and adjustability of the z2, despite its lower pricetag from its Fox siblings. If you don't need the uttermost fine tuning, or kashima coating, the Marzocchi Bomber z2 is the perfect option for Fox quality and performance on a budget.
The thru-axle makes the front end feel solid, while the damper and air spring soak up everything Ive been able to throw at it with comfort.
Only downside in my mind for the z2 (maybe all new Marzocchi's?) is that the Syncros fender that bolts up to the Fox 34/36 forks is NOT able to be used with this fork. The bolt holes are filled in with the casting on the "M" arch.
Bought the Z2 to replace my RockShox Reba.
Smooth as butter. Perfect for the person who wants to 'set it and forget' it. Not harsh at all.
Really just a burlier simpler set it and forget it fox 34. Time will tell if stanchion coatings and plastic adjusters will last, but seal kits and air shock are 100% fox 34 analogs. Has a lot of mid travel support and feels a lot better than the motion control rock shocks I've ridden.
