Curious about coil? It’s no secret coil shocks offer amazing on-trail feel and the Bomber CR provides a plush, planted feel and consistency during long shred sessions. From riders looking to breathe new life into an old ride to customers wanting a new bike that they can set and forget, the Bomber CR delivers. This high-performance yet simple rear shock pairs well with bikes in travel ranges from 130mm to over 200mm. Keeping in step with Marzocchi’s founding philosophies, this new rear shock prioritizes suspension performance, ride quality and durability. Simply set your sag and rebound, and go ride.
PLEASE NOTE: This shock does not come with a spring. See '3 Steps to Buy the Right Shock' tab to add the right spring and remember to keep the size of your shock chosen above handy.
Just bought a marzocchi bomber CR trunnion mount 185x55 for my Devinci Troy couple of weeks ago to replace my air shock. Performance of the shock is awesome. Really plush at top stroke, excellent bottom out feeling. Rear wheel traction is outstanding, I really recommend this shock. Also really easy to setup and a huge span of adjustment for both LSC and LSR.
Great price at Pro discount. Great damping action and tuning for the price. Great appearance. Great range of sizes including the 7.5 x 2.0 I needed which is not available for the Fox DHX2 (I've ridden a DHX2 on my other bike already twice the miles with no issues). But at about 2200 miles of frequent XC and AM technical trail and one day of Enduro use a year ago my CR's oil leaked out from the rebound end of the shaft to mount interface. When researching whether to buy another CR, I saw an earlier review of the MB CR somewhere maybe here in these Pro reviews, where another rider had the same failure and the warranty service took 3 months to return and then it quickly failed again the same way. Also in the Fox Pro checkout we must check in a box agreeing to the Terms before completing purchase, and in the Terms it clearly says there is "no warranty of any kind" and purchase is in "As Is" condition. Any other brand's pro rate coil very short coil shock available fitting this bike was more than double the price $350 or more, so I bought another CR hoping my first CR was a lemon, or the seal failure problem has been fixed.
This coil is awesome so far - I put it on my YT Capra and it made such a difference. Can take big hits and small bump sensitivity is great! I also like how simple it is to set up, and it's ability to adjust it to different riding styles with a few clicks here and there on the rebound and low speed. Customer service was extremely helpful in getting me the right spring and mounting hardware and shipping was fast! Thanks, Gang! I have ridden for about a month so far on drops and jumps and normal trail riding - will update if something crazy happens.
Horrible shock with internal defects! Warranty did not cover and was proven to be a factory defect. Was called a poorly assembled shock by the local fox service centre. Highly suggest buying something else that wasn’t released 10+ years ago. Good job cheapening the marzocchi name fox!
Ran it for about a season until it was time to replace seals. Before that could be done the oil decided it didn't want to be in the shock anymore and left thru the rebound end of the shock. Warrantied it and got it back after like 3 months and it immediately broke again in the same way after one (1) ride. Taking it to a suspension specialist instead of warrantying again because I don't have the patience to wait another 3 months. Running this on a 2019 Specialized Stumpjumper w/ 500lb spring. 2/5 stars. Page 404's when I try to give it a rating other than 5.
