Team Protek takes home more victories on Marzocchi suspension

Bologna (ITA), April 5th, 2012 – On April fools’ day, team Protek took home some victories that were no joke.

Last weekend, the strong team proved their determination once more in an official UCI Cross Country race in Premantura, Pula (Croatia). The Russian 21-year-old athlete Ekaterina Anoshina had already conquered the first trial of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup – XCO U23w on a very technical trail in Pietermaritzburg (RSA) with a first place.

She has been impressing everyone this season and continues to do so with another win in the U23 category last weekend. Elite Greek rider Ilias Periklis took the top of the podium in Croatia while Russian teammate Ivan Smirnov reached 4th place. The team’s success is at the same time living proof that our CORSA Superleggera Carbon 29" is the perfect fit for the big wheel.

Already back in 2000, we worked on our very first 29” with mountain bike legend Gary Fisher. Fast forward to 2012 and we can see that the mountain bike world has caught up to that decade old vision we had with Gary… the 29” bike rocks! And team Protek is out there to prove it. They are riding the all-new 2012 model of the CORSA Superleggera 29”: 100% optimized for the big wheel, this fork is super lightweight with a carbon fiber crown and steer tube while it fits wider tires than any of its competitors.

Many other designs are simply extensions of the 26” fork chassis but we took it a step further and developed a fork that is dedicated to the performance requirements the big wheel demands! But we are not stopping there: To match team Protek’s new frame color, we are producing a special fluoride yellow fork. With its special pigments, this fork will not be overlooked, not even in the dark of the night.

AER – Air that makes you fly
Completely reengineered, the new air system performs better than any other system on the market. Countless reviews and tests agree with us! Plushness you would expect from a coil combined with the air volume adjuster offers an ideal compression curve that fits any rider. The low pressure required keeps the seals sliding smoothly on the surface with no friction at all. Furthermore, the fixed piston in the closed cartridge helps to reduce weight since less oil is needed in the entire system.

TST Micro
Slightly redesigned to reach perfection, the TST Micro is the latest step in a forward evolution of our closed cartridge hydraulic system. The red knob on the lower part of the fork leg adjusts rebound; the black top lever activates the Micro system controlling compression. The Micro adjustment located in the middle of the top left knob sets the threshold valve in order to offer maximum traction and control on any terrain and combining it with any riding style. Lockout is activated quick and easy to not hold you back from your uphill adventure.
