Marzocchi’s Dirt legendes jump onto the podium at 26TRIX
Mondraker’s Andreu Lacondeguy and NS Bikes Teamrider Sam Pilgrim were the top contenders of this weekend’s 26TRIX fueled by Monster in Leogang, Austria.
Andreu Lacondeguy who got famous at the very first 26TRIX in 2006 when hewas an unknown young rider from Spain, proved once again why he is one of
the world’s best when it comes to big jumps and big tricks. His first run
of the qualifying, which was – due to the bad weather conditions – also the
final run, allowed Andreu Lacondeguy (ESP) to come in on second place. He
started it with a backflip tailwhip followed by a 360 and a backflip. After
that, he impressed judges and spectators with one of his signature
superextended supermans, a tailwhip and 360 tailwhip gave him the necessary
points for second place.
It was also the second run that helped Sam Pilgrim (GBR) come in on third
place. He showed a backflip tuck no hand, 360 x-up and backflip x-up one
foot. After an extremely stylish 360 tabletop, he finished his run with a
backflip and 360 tailwhip. After seven out of nineteen FMB World Tour
events, Sam Pilgrim is still leading the FMB World Tour ranking 2011.
