Team Protek gains a brilliant honor placing

at the second stage of Cross Country Under 23 World Championship in Houffalize (Belgium)

The Protek team, led by the young manager Andrea Marconi, already won the first stage of the Cross Country Under 23 World Cup on March 17th, in South Africa, thanks to the exciting performance of the 21 years old Russian athlete Ekaterina Anoshina. Today, in Belgium, still thanks to Ekaterina Anoshina efforts, the team conquered a brilliant placing in the second stage of the Cross Country World Cup mountain bike championship, which was won by Ukrainian athlete Yana Belomoina, who, at the third lap, overtook Ekaterina and kept the lead until the end, winning the race with a gap of 13" on her rival from the Protek team.

After the race, Ekaterina told to her talent scout, coach and team manager Andrea Marconi that, sadly, in the last part of the competition she wasn't able to reply to the winning strike from the Ukrainian Belomina because she was too tired. Also, according to Ekaterina's statement, such tiredness was a consequence coming from the great effort made on April 8th to win the challenging race at Roc Lassagais, the second stage of UCI Marathon World Cup Series. Indeed, it was the first agonistic experience for the merging Russian athlete.
